WOW what we don't know!
Seven years after setting up the first website (my host is bizland) I'm just now starting to explore the main bizland site to discover what they can do for my site. It's amazing how long I've been in the dark about some really nice SIMPLE and FREE things that bizland offers..and I just pay for their basic plan. Things like free newsletters to send to customers, free counters for the site, free search engine rankings and submissions.. I really feel silly for not taking the time to explore it more. Guess I should stop dyeing so much and start reading more.
Anyways I'm really amazed at how much can be found. They even help put together a very simple store with shopping cart. They offer upgrades and/or refer me to other places where I can get it.
big duh.
What host do you use, what is the cost, and have you discovered all the nifty freebies yet?

I a using Yahoo! I pay about $13 a month which includes the fee for my URL. I have a huge amount of space. More hten I'll ever need, even if I upload all my DVD's. I think my site uses about 1% of what I have avail.
Some of the perks: site builder, I am one of the top sites which comes up when you do a yahoo search with "Los Angeles Belly Dancer", free directory listing, yes, if I put up a store that is free as well. I can open th esmall business page and get a daily, weekly, etc hit counter. I can also, I believe, find out where they are coming from so that I can optimize my advertising, ie: craigslist, bridal sites, etc.

Bizland is AWESOME. They submit my site monthly to all the major search engines, give me reports on my traffic (including where visitors come from, what search phrases they used or links they came from), check my links & verify my HTML for free, and so much more. It's definitely worth exploring the site.

the basic store builder is really basic but it integrates both a shopping cart and paypal..and it's free. Might have to upgrade at some point but it looks like it's simple, but will work fine for getting started..thanks guys

The basic store has limits on how many pages/items you can have. I find it VERY inflexible (though I use it for show tickets). But you can play with it and get a feel for it and maybe upgrade in the future.
I heart Bizland. I've used them for years and years.
