Transferring Ipod to new computer
Hi all, my MacMini is on the fritz, says I need to make more room in my startup disc, and it won't let me burn any cd on my Itunes. I have all my itunes songs on my ipod but it is synced up to my Mac Mini. I have a Macbook and would like to transfer all the songs from my Ipod onto the mini so I can access them. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!!!!!

Re: Transferring Ipod to new computer
Do you have an external hard drive? If so, you can transfer your music folder onto the external hard drive and then transfer it over to your macbook. Click your finder icon on your mac mini and when the window pops up, on the side panel, you will see a folder that says music- that holds your entire itunes library copy that over to the external hard drive (which is a good idea anyway as a backup). then you can easily copy it to your macbook. I have uploaded from my ipod before but I can't remember how it was done, I just remember it being a real pain.
eta: also if you plug your ipod back to your mac mini, when it opens up in Itunes, click the sync with computer off. this should make it fine you to switch your syncing to your macbook.Last edited by KDizzle; 01-07-2010 at 04:28 PM. Reason: forgot to add something

I don't have an external hard drive.... but should probably get one!
I read about some software called "touchcopy" which might do it...

Re: Transferring Ipod to new computer
i used itouch copy software, worked very well but cost $$, not a lot, about $30 but still. I'm going to try kizzie's suggestion ti back up my music, lost it a few too many times and now that I'm primarily buying digital copies, if i lose it, it's gone...

Re: Transferring Ipod to new computer
I downloaded something free called Senuti, which will reverse-synch an ipod to a computer.
But really, getting an external hard drive would be much simpler and safer.
