Easy and quick program to download youtube videos, burn to DVD and play on TV

I've been experimenting with all kinds of programs and no luck. I can successfully convert and download to my computer. The hard part is burning to a DVD then getting the DVD to play in a player connected to a TV. I'd prefer a progam that will burn a DVD as my Roxio DVD burning program doesn't seem to work either. GRRRR.

I'm willing to buy a program if it works. The last 2 freedownloads I tried took hours then still didn't deliver.

What format is the file you're trying to burn to a DVD? Is it an flv file, or were you able to convert it to something else (like an avi or mpg)?

What I usually do is use something like FLV to mpg-Powerful FLV to mpg converter to convert FLV to mpg (free trial, $29 to buy) to convert an flv file to an mpg. Then I just burn the mpg to a DVD using Windows DVD Maker.

Yes, the file downloads from youtube as an flv file. It is then supposed to convert to another format, I'm not sure, what, then burn to a DVD. My last attempt got the file on a DVD but it only plays on my computer not on a regular DVD player.

Darn. Can't download Windows DVD maker. It's only for vista, not XP.

I apologize if this is a dumb questions, but can you burn other files to DVDs, that play in DVD players? Are you sure you have a DVD burner, and not just a CD burner? There's no software that can make a CD burner produce DVDs; it's a hardware issue.

I only ask because a burned CD would play on your computer, but not in a DVD player.

The answer is yes and no. I have a program to convert VHS to DVD and that will burn to a DVD and play in a player but it doesn't allow to add other formats.

I do have a DVD RW drive.

I do have Roxio DVD Burner program but I keep downloading it and the application doesn't run. I'll deal with Roxio later.

I tried another program this morning and it seemed to work fine until I got to the burning stage at 99% done it totally crashed with some error message.

I'm thinking all I need is a program to just burn a DVD.

I was going over a program I already own, Any Video Convertor Professional and it's supposed to be able to convert youtube to a dvd format. There are so many formats listed. Is it mpeg?

This program doesn't have burning capabilities it just converts.

So can anyone recommend a free burner program?

I think you must have created a DVD data disc, on a DVD movie disc.

But one step back, you can use Zamzar - Free online file conversion to download youtube clips in an MPG format.

Now to convert MPG to a playable DVD... I use Nero which works. You may want to see if this Roxio product has something to convert it. I'm not 100% sure which product you have.

I have 3 Roxio products. Only 1 works on my computer which is the Easy VHS to DVD.

I also have the Roxio My DVD10 Premier, and Roxio Easy DVD Copy 4 neither application is running on my computer.

I've been looking at Nero.

Can you give me a step by step on how to do this with Nero. I just spent 3 hours downloading it and trying to burn only to get a fricking error message. Burn process failed! At first it said to insert a CD not a DVD???? Then when I did that I got the same message. Burn process failed. I'm about to lose my mind! And my money!

This shouldn't be so hard to burn a DVD!!

OMG! Finally Success! After much trial and error and long download sessions, using Nero, I was finally able to burn a DVD that played on a DVD player attached to my TV.

The problem is trying to remember what I did! It was quite a process.

So was that like a free version of Nero or did you buy it?

If you have the full version of Nero you can simply import the FLV file directly and export as a DVD I think.

It was the free trial version, which was kind of annoying as it kept popping up a buy now message. I will buy it now though. Whew! What an ordeal!

Okay, I decided to buy Nero 9 because it will do what I want. However, now I'm sceptical. Ever since, I downloaded the trial version I've been experiencing all kinds of problems. My usual Roxio VHS to DVD software is having problems, it works but is super slow. All my internet applications are slower as Nero changed my search engine to ask.com.

THEN when I tried to unistall the trial version I spent 3 hours with a basically crashed computer. Still uninstalled.

Will this change if i use official software? I ordered the discs not the download version, but I'm now afraid to install if it's going to crash everything else I own.

Do I need more memory or something? Or is the program designed to crash everything else?

Norma how much memory do you have left on you hard drive? And how big is the Nero download?
