Samsung Captivate -how to upload video

So I finally ditched my old Nokia construction worker's dream phone and entered the 21st century by purchasing a smart phone.

So far, I'm enjoying my Samsung Captivate. I've learned how to answer an incoming call -swipe right. I've learned how to change from camera to camcorder, swipe down from the arrow on the top, and I've learned how to watch clips on youtube.

But I can't figure out how to upload videos. The Captivate takes amazing video! The quality is outstanding. First I tried to send a video via messaging or email but the size is to big for that. Even 5 seconds is too big. Okay. Disappointed. But I can deal with that.

So then I tried the upload to youtube feature. It says I need to connect to a wi-fi network? WTF? Later, I did dabble in playing with the phone and found a feature to turn on a wi-fi network or connect to one. But I'm not sure what I need to do.

So then I figured I'd just download all the video I took to my computer. Well there are no instructions included. After browsing the net, I downloaded the appropriate USB driver for the phone, followed all the instructions. The phone is connected to the computer but not of my video programs seem to recognize the USB connection even though the phone says it is connected and my downloads say they were installed successfully. So I can't capture the video.

Did you contact tech support at Samsung or your phone service provider?

No not yet. I'm going to have to put the issue aside for a week. I'm flying to Philly today for work and on Thursday I'm taking a national insurance exam so I need to stop playing with the phone and focus on my studies.

But after that I will if no one else can help.

I finally called tech support. First AT & T then then connected me to Samsung.
