How to Post Pics wo/Hot Linking?

OMG! How do you upload, insert or whatever a photo so that it's not hot linked? I tried downloading it, then attaching it, but that gives such a tiny pic, not much bigger than a thumbnail. I right clicked on the photos I found online, clicked on Copy Link Location. Then while composing the thread I hit the Insert Image button and pasted the URL I got from Copy Link Location into it. I just realized that that is hot linking and stealing bandwidth, isn't it?

The short answer is that you can post a picture without stealing bandwidth, by having the photo in one of your own albums here, and attaching it.

However that leads to the problem of copying and reproducing a photo without having any of the rights of reproduction to it.

Which is the worse theft- bandwidth or copyright?

I'm not saying I know the answer, but personally, I'd rather people hotlinked to my photos and my site, rather than copying them, especially as many of the photos are not my own copyright, I merely have the right to use them for my own publicity and website purposes. At least if people are directed to my site, where the photos show proper credit for the photographers, then it's fairer to them.
