Ah well, it's at the same time than one of Saida's workshop, I think I'll stick to Saida.

I wish they would trade Ansuya's class with Ava Flemings Sultry Sharqi. I took that one here in Atl last month, and it wasn't what I expected. She had us do our own thing, like movement meditation I guess, as opposed to teaching us sultry sharqi combo's and technique.

I am looking foward to Mariyah's workshop. SHe is such an elegant dancer. I am glad that I live so close to Miami and we have the privledge of having Nathalie put on such an amazing event. Look foward to seeing some of you there.

Hey - I noticed they moved Ansuya's class, and so I'm going to take it. Her workshop topic is "Gypsy Sugar" and at first I misunderstood what this meant. It looks like she is going to teach parts of combos from one of her recent shows titled "Gypsy Sugar," using props and a live drummer. It actually sounds really good to me now!

Except,,,,I wont be able to take Roshana's class now. :O(

Sorry to keep talking...but I am sooooo excited about the line-up and workshops! I hope I get to meet some fellow bhuzzer's there! Maybe we could try to have dinner together one night. :O)

BTW, there is a mistake in the workshop schedule, Roshanna won't be giving the 'egyptian choreography workshop' but the 'exquisitely sinous technique workshop'.

In this workshop, the concept of holding back, taking your time and "milking" your movements to achieve an expressive, relaxed yet powerful, and supple dance style will be discussed. A choreography with focus on intricate hip movements, contractions, and musical interpretation will be taught. There will also be some focus on improvisation in this style. Recommended for Intermediate to Advanced/Professional level dancers.

Which sounds pretty amazing to me :)

I am having a tough time deciding exactly which workshops to take! I wish I could compete but haven't had time to prepare.... trying to move along with this pesky masters thesis of mine....

I do need a room to stay though, so if anyone has a little space I could sleep, that would be great!..g.:
I will be driving to Miami Friday and probably leaving Monday night to head to Orlando.

I'm still looking for somebody to share a room with! I already have Zaira (from Georgia) but I need one more...

Aw, wish you had posted just a day or two earlier! I went ahead and got myself a room. It's a king bed but I am willing to take to the floor if someone needs a place to stay. Message me!

I have a room with 4 beds, I have Zaira and me, so if 2 more people or even just one are interested please let me know., just trying to save some money to go for more workshops!!!!

I will be taking 3 workshops on Sunday and hopefully 1 with Saida on Monday morning before I head to the airport. I am mainly there for Saida and Yamil

Me too! All I care is for Saida and Yamill... plus ususally they dont came here for workshops and we will always have a chance to study with all the other excellent instructors!!!

Turkish Dancer - my room-mate and I LOVED your performance and your amazing costume. We were shocked you didn't place. Anyways, it was a pleasure watching you dance.

One of Virginia's students, Isis, won second place. I can't remember the names of the first and third place winners. Sorry. The first place winner was a young lady from Peurto Rico...I think.

Virginia's troupe won the troupe competition. That was a hard one, because Leyla and the Lotus Dancers from CA were amazing!

An amazing young lady from Haiti won up and coming.

She is a doll! And a wonderful dancer too! I forgot to mention she was also part of Virginia's troupe that one first place, so she really had a good night.

3rd place was a young lady from Tampa/ St. Petersburg Ameerah (hipexpressions.com). She is an amazing dancer!

Thanks VRON, even though they have not played the song I requested months ago, that was a suprise for me, but I love live music, I did my best. I got a lot of compliments that is good enough for me.Because of the music, I lost at least 10 points I can count, because that affected my entrance/exit/music selection...judges cut points from those areas.
My costume is from Bella, in Turkey.

Yes we really need to work on it...I am thinking 2010 for sure...I will go to Turkey but if anything comes my way, otherwise I will be available.
I love Saida and Yamil...and their discipline and technique and style.
