    Souvenir from Egypt?

My parents are going on a two week long trip to Egypt and asked me what i would like them to buy for me there and i am not sure what to answer. Of course it has to be something belly dance related but they live in Europe and i am afraid it will cost them to much to sent it here, but maybe there is something lightweight and not to pricey that i could use for dancing, like a silk veil, a fan or coin less hip scarf? where would they look for it or how do they ask?
Are those things easy to find ?
i checked some blogs from before but could not find any stories on Egypt poplar belly dance items? Please ,give me some ideas?..c:: Thank you <3

I gave my mom this article Successful Shopping in Cairo and she gave it to her local friend, she found some nice not to expensive stuff. sehe bought me a nice coin bra nad belt set, ok that was not cheap to ship, but worth it. hope that helps. Jewelry is light, or cover ups, Galabeyas etc.

A nice piece of assuit would be on the top of my list. Does not have to be very large. When I was a teen a friend brought me 2 pieces of assuit. I dyed the white one (had a few spots on it), and a larger one in traditional black. I will always treasure both. During one of my trips I found some leather totes with Egyptian designs. Leather accessories are an option. Wallets, portfolios, address books, etc. I bought a few dozen leather wallets with hieroglyphics designs to use a gifts.

    yes, assuit!
    and small gold jewelry
    and
*evil grin* lycra costumes don't weigh much and can be packed in a small box. your parents could send one directly from egypt while they are there. send them with your measurements and the address of a designer you like. it can be ready to mail to you before they leave. a costume at local egyptian prices plus international shipping is usually still way less than retail here in the usa

For other touristy stuff . . . Papyrus is really light and you can find it everywhere . . . not just papyrus shops! The only problem is the "fake" stuff.

Tell them to go to Khan El Khalili in Cairo for sure. There are several shops there that sell dance related items and Meissoun's website lists some of them Successful Shopping in Cairo .

There are tons of jewelry shops there too with gold and silver.
