Hi everyone,
I'm going to Egypt next month. I have very basic questions... hope someone can help!
I LOVE Phoraonics of Egypt costumes. Does anyone know where to find them? Or any other great costume shops that you recommend?
I LOVE Randa Kamel
Is it easy to go to her show? I know she'll be in DC in the beginning of March. I will be in Egypt between Mid and end of March.
Anyone recommend other great shows? I'd love to see cabaret and folklore dances.
Thank you!

I don't know of any places you can go to but if you contact a vendor who gets them they may help you. Try contacting Belly Dance Costumes | Belly Dance Store.com: Designer Egyptian Costumes at Affordable Prices - they may have a store there already. And they have great stuff. Have fun!!

Re: Egypt!
Have a great time on your trip! For Amira of Pharonix, you can contact her and visit her atalier. For Amira, and other costumers, check out Outi's site - Outi of Cairo - Shopping for Dance in Cairo
Randa dances on the Nile Maxim. You can call the boat and ask what nights she is dancing, and get a reservation (and ask to be close to the dance floor). I suggest you have a hotel clerk call, I don't recall the reservation people speaking a lot of English. Info and calendar - Cairo Venues list for the Gilded Serpent

Re: Egypt!
I'm leaving soon! One more thing, does anyone know good folklore shows in Cairo? Do you recommend anything that I should definitely do while I'm there?
Thanks!

Re: Egypt!
Either Sheraton or Hilton (not sure which one) has the Hassan Hassan show . . . I've heard it is a lot of fun. Maybe If you contact Outi, she will know which hotel.
Also, don't miss the free TAnnoura show at the El Ghuri (near Khan el Khalili) . . . this is a great show with live music. It isn't just one guy with the colorful skirts whirling but many different parts with many guys PLUS one of them is a fabulous sagat player. Not to be missed . . . although I missed it on this last trip, lol!
