Superstar Ansuya and Award Winner Alexandra King!

Please note that the entire weekend will take place in Naples, Florida!

Join superstar Ansuya and one of her main influences, Alexandra King for a weekend of workshops and show in Naples, Florida!

The foundations of belly dance are rooted in a variety of folkloric and classical dance styles from the Middle East, Egypt, North Africa and
Central Asia.

Alexandra and Ansuya will teach a 3-day camp in these styles including Kaligi, Lebanese Dabke, Persian classical, Ghawazee, Malia Lef and Zar.


Workshops will be held at
Ansuya's Bellydance Studio in tropical Naples, Florida
with a Saturday evening show featuring Ansuya, Alexandra King, the lovely students of Ansuya's Bellydance Studio, and Gypsy Sugar!

Join Ansuya for a saucy display of flirtatious mischievousness as she teaches you this folkloric character dance that will have you playing a sexy "conceal and reveal" game with your veil wrap! Recommended to bring rectangular veil, high heels, and a short dress!

830-1030PM ALEXANDRA - Lebanese Dabke
Powerful footwork and aerial ornate step combinations add elements of earth and air bringing Yin and Yang together in this dramatic folk dance. Recommended to bring a hankie and to wear hard soled shoes.

Learn to shimmy your hips and play your finger cymbals with the casual confidence of an Egyptian Gypsy ("Ghawazee") dancer! Recommended to bring finger cymbals.

230-430PM ALEXANDRA - Persian Classical
Liquid arms and hands blended with lyrical bends and turns and floating steps are the essence of Persian dance.

Unleash yourself with this intense and dramatic trance dance!

230-430PM ALEXANDRA - Kaligi
Sassy Saudi dance will teach you to use your hair and head with fiery hip movements! Step combos in Kaligi will add spice and fire to your drum solo! Bring a Thobe (Saudi dress) or large moo-moo-like dress.

Oh she'll be there giving her insight and pointers here and there, trust me! I take classes with her twice a week and she still kicks ass!
