Thread: Moving to Dallas for 6 Months

Hello feller Bhuzers!

I think I go on Bhuz once in a blue moon, but here I am asking for help and advice. I'm moving to Arlington, Texas next month for the semester and I would like to get into some awesome classes.

I don't care what style anyone wants to recommend as I love them all, but what I'm really looking for is a teacher who offers a really good conditioning class on a weekly basis. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Well, if you're down in time by the 31 of this month, there is the Kismet Hafla in downtown Carrollton. Kismet.org or just google Kismet Dallas,Tx. There is one in Ft. Worth as well... This site will also link with other events and teachers in the area. You can also check out NTMEDA in tx.

Arlington...I think Gitane from somethng Rose dancers is there (sorry I am blanking out). She is very nice and really fun. Very eclectic style.
I like Rita in Richardson for drills, but she is pretty isolated. Look for her in the yellow pages, "Bellydancing by Rita".
Also, Isis in the HEB area, I think she is in Euless? I can't remember the name of her studio. She might be the best option because she has a huge, multi-studio business with many teachers and that isn't too far from Arlington. Isis and the Star Dancers-you can google it.
Kismet haflas are awesome, the best audience ever. NTMEDA is a great organization, too.

Hi Majda - Yeli is in Arlington & I know she teaches.
There is also Nadira Johara, Miabella, & Rivka Sultana - all are wonderful teachers, excellent dancers & in your area.

For fun places to go see dance, there is Al Amir in Addison, Giovani's in North Dallas, Habibi Cafe in Richardson, Byblos in Fort Worth to name a few...

SWEET! I will so be there! My poor boyfriend will just have to come along as I try to meet a bunch of dancers. I've actually heard of this Competition and have drooled over the line ups for the past couple of years.

Hi Majda,

I dance and teach in Dallas as well - I won't make it to Little Egypt's event this weekend, but I will be dancing in Addison and Richardson on Friday night and in Fort Worth and Richardson on Saturday night, and I'll be back in Addison on Sunday night.

I also teach classes in north Dallas on Monday nights, if you're up for the drive. :)

The dallas texas community is soo warm and friendly... I really enjoyed you ladies this weekend.

I loved it, too. And I do believe that I might be the tiniest bit in love with Khaled.

Makeda... i think you guys should look into bringing him up here.... my heart fluttered when he came to my table.. i almost passed out.....sigh
