Thread: New York

I'm going to be in New York from Wednesday, November 24th to Saturday the 27th. what is going on in the way of dance in New York? I honestly don't even know where to begin to look. I'd like to see a show on Friday night, and maybe take a private lesson. Who are some good teachers and what do they specialize in?

I don't think there will be much going on because of Thanksgiving. I don't know when you're leaving on Saturday, but Solstice Studio will be holding a Turkey Dance Off that morning from 10:45 AM to 12:45 PM. If she doesn't cancel because of the holiday you may want to check out Dalia Carella's classes Wednesday night at 6:30 at 440 studios. Djam under Je'Bon which is a regular Wednesday night event is cancelled. I would call Mezzo Mezzo in Astoria to see if they are having music and a dancer. Besides that you can check out the hookah bars and arabic clubs on avenue A or B downtown. Besides that it seems like NY is pretty quiet that weekend.
