I'm going to Egypt!
My mom is treating me to a trip to Egypt! I will be there the beginning of March. We are going with a tour group, so my first tine in Egypt will not be dance related. That's ok because I have always wanted to go, even before I discovered the dance.
We are going to the Khan al Khalili! So I'll prob. be making a few purchases!!!

Have fun. Tell Mahmoud I said hi when you get to the Khan. Are you going to have time to take any classes?

Well if this is not a dance related trip at least TRY to go see some shows. Hope it's a fun trip for you and a safe one!

I'm going in late February!
We're also taking a tour for our first trip - Peregrine Adventures. It's the first trip for my spouse & I and so it's not dance-related, although I hope we'll get to see some dancers at night and maybe participate in one of those Nile cruise galabeya parties.

You will have a blast! I went for 2 weeks last year for both leisure and dance! IT was just amazing and I can't wait to go back!

Have a fabulous time - don't miss Mahmoud's (costumes). just a thot - you might want to keep small notes of cash in your pocket - there is dreadful amount of poverty and people will often try to sell you small items - paper tissues etc, costs you almost nothing but makes a BIG difference to them. - I've only been once and loved it - esp. the people (they are so genuinely friendly) Celia

I won't have time to take any classes :( I'll have to save that for the next trip. Does anyone know where Mahmoud is exactly? I don't know how much time we'll have at the Khan, so I want to go straight to him! Originally Posted by rakgirl

Mahmoud's is the type of place that once you've been there it is a snap to find but it can be a little difficult the first time (simply because the souk is bustling and traders will be trying to entice you into their own shop).
