Hi all, I am currently doing a study abroad program in Istanbul, Turkey, until June. First of all I must say that I absolutely love this country :) However I have seen very little of the dance scene so far :( I was hoping to find a few instructors to take lessons with and if I find one that I really love hopefully set up something weekly. Please let me know if you have any suggestions of wonderful teachers :) If they only speak Turkish I'm okay with that as well :)
Appreciate all your help!!

Re: In Istanbul, advice!!
Lara, I'd appreciate some input about dancers too if you have any.
I am an Istanbul addict - but so far I have mostly been shopping, sightseeing and dancing tango....
Next time I'm there (in June) I finally want to take lessons again like I did the very first time.
I do have some links to websites, but would like to have first-hand experiences too.
The one teacher I will go to for sure is SerapSu because I really liked her performance at Kervansaray and also met her in person.
I am interested in Turkish Oryantal (not Romani style).

Re: In Istanbul, advice!!
Thank you so much for showing me that! I would love to attend :) Where is the festival located? I couldn't find any information on the site about how to register for workshops without paying for all the hotels etc. which of course I don't need since I'm already living here.
Thanks for the help!

Re: In Istanbul, advice!!
Oh one more thing ... Serap Su is one of our teachers in the festival, so you can try her lesson in the festival and see if you like her style.
There are many more local teachers coming to the festival, so it will be a great opportunity for you to find your fav. teacher!!
Good luck!
