Buying tickets-any suggestions?
First timer going out of country-to Cairo
So far cheaptickets.com seems to be the cheapest, buy I worry buying them online from horror stories I've heard.
Anyone have any suggestions/tips? Any good travel agents?
Thanks!
Amity

I'd like some advice too since I'm considering going to Cairo and tickets are expensive.

Today I got 1040 from British Air.
Northwest/KLM was 1080.
Everything else was over 1200.
This was departing from Boston.

Those of you looking to buy tickets (to anywhere) should also try sidestep.com. They have some of the best prices I've seen

Re: Buying tickets-any suggestions?
I`ve never had any problems buying from CheapTickets,Amity. And i`ve done several times thru the travel search engine Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - Kayak.com and they always quote CheapTickets as the cheapest ones.
Go for it without any doubt!..g.:

my husband and i went through Alitalia last year. Chicago - stop over in Milan then Milan to Cairo. we added an extra destination to visit friends in Turkey but i believe without that flight it was around $900 or so for the flight.

Egypt National Tours, LLC does tickets only. They also do just hotel arrangements for you or Egypt a 'la carte tours. You can design your own itinerary, or take one of the popular tours.
They also do arranged tours from A to Z. One to whatever..tour sponsorships..specialitly itineraries, dancers itineraries.

Re: Buying tickets-any suggestions?
I used CheapTickets the first time I went to Europe and it was fine. When I'm no longer poor, I will be using them again.
I've actually never purchased a plane ticket at the counter. And the one time I used an agency, it was a nightmare and I ended up spending 3 days in the hotel airport.
I say just get them online. But do as Tahira suggested and get insurance.Last edited by Midoria; 06-15-2008 at 05:16 PM.

Re: Buying tickets-any suggestions?
I used to use cheap tickets until they were bought out and the tickets were no longer as cheap. I use ITA, which is the program travel agents use, and is available online. KAYAK is also very good. I usually find the prices on ITA I want, adjust things on Kayak accordingly, and purchase tickets. A word of warning- lots of sites these days are not listing their taxes and fees.
(In my other life, I'm a certified travel agent and specialize in budget travel...REAL budget travel, like youth hostels, etc).
For instance, I just did a Minneapolis-Cairo ITA search for January, and came up with
