You're thinking of Wendy Buonaventura. She's based in the South West of England, nowhere near London. I don't think that she teaches regular classes. (Though I may be wrong.)

    Bea.... where is Khaled based?

London sounds to be full of teachers but I assume that you have to be especially careful.

He's based in Sussex, I think...
I don't think he teaches regular classes, he's terribly busy being an international teacher all over the world- his schedule is crazy!

Yes London is full of teachers. And I wouldn't recommend Jo if I didn't think she was the best one to try.

Certainly she is the safest bet for teaching or anyone associated with her. I shouldn't think there is anyone else with the reputation.

    Is Shefik Ibrahim teaching regularly?

Khalid told me that he is about an hour and a half out side of London.

According to his website he is: Shafeek Dance at The Place which is right near Euston and Kings Cross stations (i.e. very easy to get to!).

Khaled told me about a dance festival with Asmahan (Argentina/Egypt), Lubna Emam and Kazafi in Littlehamptonn in March. I don't know how far it is from London and I assume that he is teaching there as well on a regular basis. Would be great to take some lessons with him there as the Nile Group is so crowded.

What a great thread to post, 'cause I'm mvoing to London for a (short) bit too! I took classes with Jo Wise in October, and she is wonderful--I really enjoyed her classes. I also took a private lesson with Shafeek and he is AMAZING!! I am going to be studying quite a bit more with both of them, so there's my recommendation. Maybe I'll see you around
