here's their website. they seem to have the same supplier as white lotus did but not sure i should order from them since they don't have a paid advertisement on bhuz or something...(which is how i found out about them, they sent me a PM)

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
has anyone actually ordered from them, whether a hipscarf or costume?
I'm thinking of ordering a hip scarf first to make sure they're 'legit'. granted, that shouldn't be as big of a disaster as a costume but it's something..what do you think?

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
I ordered a costume from them a couple of weeks ago, and paid by paypal, just to be sure. It's being custom made, so I'm still waiting, but I'll let you know when it comes.

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Yeah same deal here - 4-5 weeks. When I initially asked about payment I mentioned paypal and she said yes - I ended up paying extra to cover her fees and she put it through 2checkout.com or somethng like that. I definitely wanted to use paypal just for extra insurance. So far no dramas, but I have another week or two to wait. :)

ooo good choice!
well i've been looking at a lot haha but the one i've had my eye on for FOREVER is the blue one, #12 Belly Shake® - About
i also really like #9 but i think i'd want it in red and silver, instead of with gold and not sure how that would look?

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
u gotta ask them specifically but nothing over $270 for any of the costumes i asked for (and i asked for a lot lol)
valeskah, i mentioned paypal to the person but they said the problem is that it takes 15 days to get to the money. i mentioned i had a "friend" (you lol) pay with paypal and now they're asking for your name...they're telling me they can be trusted since i know someone ordered from them...lol

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
LOL!
Well feel free to tell them my name (they contacted me on bhuz too, so they'll presumably know my bhuz name), and that I paid using paypal, but that since I ordered recently I haven't received my costume yet so you're just being cautious :)
Yeah those ones are cute - I think the red and silver would work well!

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Let me know how it goes. I noticed that they have the "gold loops" that I ordrered from white lotus and never got. I also noticed that they are only $196. We ended up getting other troupe costumes, but I am glad to know we can get them straight from the manufacturer--of course, according to white lotus, it was the manufacturer that was causing the hold-up...so best of luck to you~!

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Did you just send them measurements? I am chatting with them about some wholesale costumes and I was not sure what format to send the measurements in (inches or cm).
Also - what are their shipping charges like. Reasonable?Last edited by Lilaravena; 02-04-2009 at 07:35 PM.

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Please post as soon as you get your cossie Valeskah. I'm interested in something they have but I'd like to hear about your experience and the quality of the costume first.

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Still stalking the post office. Hope it comes soon! Will let you all know ASAP :)
I paid on 29/12 and they said it would take 4-5 weeks before shipping (that was right on, which bodes well!)
I sent measurements in cm, and she didn't seem perturbed by that. Hope she didn't think they were inches or I'll be in trouble! :)
Shipping was about $65US. I guess that's about right since I paid the same for a costume to be sent from Bella, but I don't remember what kind of postage it was.

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Hey guys, just keep in mind that there are several customers of White Lotus who custom ordered costumes from these people and never received them 3-6 months later. I don't know if they make vendor costumes more slowly or what...but I'd just like to know what is up. (I'm bitter).

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
i have been chatting with them and they want western union for payment. That concerns me since I would be purchasing a lot of costumes. I saw the earlier posts about PayPal.
zfejzic & valeskah: Do you mind if I "drop" your names so that I can use PayPal?

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Of course. When I paid mine, I said that my money was already in Paypal so it was my only choice, as well as offering extra security. I did pay a bit extra to cover their fees though.

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
Hi gals,
It arrived today! YAY!
Size-wise almost perfect - but I'd advise to order a cupsize up (should have remembered that myself!) as the cups aren't terribly "cupped". The widths are fine though and the belt will fit perfectly as soon as I've done the hooks and eyes.
It looks pretty sturdy - I gently tugged on the fringe and there wasn't movement. The big crystals in the picture are actually about 6mm crystals with holographic silver sequins around it. There were a couple of crystals loose from the prongs when it arrived, and obviously a couple now rolling around on the Customs office floor! Easy to replace though.
A good thing is that the fabric under the beading/sequins is a gold coloured liquid dots type of fabric, rather than the yellow favoured by most of the budget ones. They used a bronzy coloured lining which also blends in quite well, as the gold is deep rather than yellow.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with what I got for the price - a sturdy medium-grade workhorse. I just wish I'd gone up a cupsize!
I'd recommend these guys for bedlahs. Now someone needs to get a stretchy costume and let us know how that goes!

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
oh man i really want a "stretchy" costume but not sure if i have the moolah. if someone would buy the two costumes i've got up then i can order...,r:;..g.:
valeskah is it because u like more coverage in your bra that u should have ordered 2 cup sizes up or what? would it be terrible of me to ask to post a pic of the bra to show the cups (maybe from the side as well)?

Re: anyone ever ordered from bellyshake?
I'll take a pic as it is and send it to you - it also needs the halter adjusted so it's riding low! I'll see how it goes once I've adjusted the halter, but it feels pretty bare at the moment as the cups are quite shallow. Once the straps are moved, the angle may mean the cups sit at the right spot to cover/support more.
Here's a pic of it flat on the kitchen table. You can see it's quite shallow (and wide yet narrow - 8" wide and 6.5" up. I'm sure my other bras are at least 7" up...)

Yeah I know what you mean - I have a bunch of stuff on the board at the moment too!Last edited by valeskah; 02-09-2009 at 06:54 AM.
