I ordered a pair of Jim Boz finger cymbals from Jim Boz's website in mid-January, and I still have not received them. (Today is April 2.)
After my original order, I received an email a couple of weeks later saying they were on backorder, but that they would be in in a week or two...so I should have gotten them in mid-February.
Still, nothing. I emailed a couple of days ago, and no response yet. They were an expensive pair of cymbals...and I have an event on April 25 and was hoping to use them that night, and have a little bit of time to play with them and get used to them.
Anyone else successfully gotten these, or had trouble getting them?

Maybe you could pm him on Bhuz if he is here. It could be that someone else is in charge of mailing and he doesn't even know.

I dropped him an email for you [I used to take lessons]. There must be something up - he's always been a model of good business whenever I've purchased something from his shwag shop or taken workshops.
Have you tried calling him?

Re: Jim Boz finger cymbals???? Anyone??
I never heard back from my email I sent the end of March. I emailed again a week ago, and still have no response.
I am very upset. I paid for and ordered the finger cymbals 3 months ago.
It wouldn't be so bad...but these aren't $20 or $40 finger cymbals...they were VERY expensive ones. My performance is this Saturday, and I wanted to use them for it, specifically. My first instructor is coming back to my state for a seminar, and I wanted to use them in the show that evening.
*sigh*

He's probably out of town, he is most of the time. Did you check his website for his schedule?
I know he's very rarely on Bhuz, he's extremely busy.

Re: Jim Boz finger cymbals???? Anyone??
I have no experience with that vendor, BUT...
If they are paid for, there is NO EXCUSE why you:
#1 haven't received them yet &
#2 received at least some customer service replies...
Out of town & too busy is NO REASON!
I wish these types of vendors would just NOT SELL if they cannot DELIVER!
I also believe that it is illegal or at least against credit card policy to charge for goods if they are NOT available for immediate delivery. I know that PAYPAL also has that policy.
Custom orders of high value items, can, however request a deposit...but in the end a reasonable amount of time is allotted for receiving the items...over a month is never reasonable!
Of Course, this is my opinion, as I have $$$ tied up right now in a custom order for over 6 months!!!

Re: Jim Boz finger cymbals???? Anyone??
I have left multiple email messages since February. I called his phone number listed on his website about a week and a half ago and left a message, and have still received NO RESPONSE. It was the correct number, because there was an ad about his classes.
I am very, very upset about this. I cannot even get any sort of a response via phone or email to get my money back if I am not going to get my finger cymbals. I did not have them for the show they were originally purchased for, and now I am out $70 for them as well.
I will not send any of my dancer friends or students to that web store. What should I do now, ladies????

If you check his workshop schedule on the website, maybe you could contact the event coordinator where he's currently teaching or at his next stop.
That's an idea.

The thing is-I shouldn't have to "chase" him around like that. I ordered online, I should have gotten them. When I didn't, I emailed him and called his number-and didn't get any responses back. It's completely unacceptable. I ordered them 4 months ago.

Re: Jim Boz finger cymbals???? Anyone??
I paid for mine in person in June of 2008 and still don't have them.
I was told in person at the next workshop I took with him that it was a mix- up and I'd get a set out of the next pressing.
I love him... fabulous teacher. Amazing performer. Great guy. Trying to keep my rose colored fan goggles on but at this point... geez.
I have called and left voice mail. I have left at least 4 e-mails... No response.
His schedule on the web site shows out of the country right now.
Jim... you don't write....you don't call....you don't send me flowers....Oh sorry wrong decade.

Re: Jim Boz finger cymbals???? Anyone??
Wow. Surely someone who travels most of the time for business wouldn't offer products for sale online and not leave someone in charge of customer service who might be more available....and check up on that person? I'm really surprised there's no e-mail autoresponse or phone message directing you to that person or letting you know when Boz will be accessible again.

Re: Jim Boz finger cymbals???? Anyone??
His website says that there are 8 units in stock. Maybe this is a problem with who ever is managing the store, so to speak. The other question which comes to mind is could there be production problems on Harry's end?
Although that is no excuse for poor customer service. . .
