Says their custom orders are done in about 4 weeks. That's pretty fast. Anyone ordered from them? What's the quality like? Is everything sewn or glued? Or both?

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I've only bought a custom hip scarf from them. Service was fast and the scarf was well constructed.

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I ordered a gold bra and belt set from them years ago which being gold is my workhorse. I ordered it from E-bay and I did get it very quickly, but it was a completely different size. (This makes me think that they have a number of the common sizes almost ready to go which is how they get them to you so quickly. But that's just my theory). Their costumer service was outstanding, they e-mailed me back an hour after I reported the problem and sent me a label to return it. I did have to wait another month to get my cossie, but it was perfect.
Given how often I wear mine, I'd say the quality is top of the line. The only problem is the fringe which is made of bugle beads and cuts the thread so you'll have to replace it sooner or later.

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I have orderd fringe and hipscarves from them and have gotten a great product and great customer service in the past. I think you might even find them here on Bhuz. I've seen Yaz post a couple of times here.

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I custom ordered a costume from them on Ebay about 4 years ago. It was stunning but took about 12 weeks to complete (which they said it would so no problem there).

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I've ordered many hipscarves from KOTN on Ebay, and they have always been the best quality hipscarves I've ever bought..

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I've ordered two costumes from them, both from their in-stock inventory. The costumes are well-made, but the bras run small. Order at least a size up on the cup. Also, their lycra costumes are notorious for causing a muffin-top because of the way they do the elastic. I had to replace one of mine. Never had problems with them service-wise.
Oh and everything is sewn.

Two custom hipscarves from a couple years ago--they were one of the few places offering copper-colored coins at the time. Great service, great product.

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I custom ordered my very first pro costume from them about 4 years ago, a gold fringerific bedlah. They took 6 weeks (it came the day before the performance I'd ordered it for -- I was stalking the UPS guy) and fit like a dream. Really excellent quality workmanship in my experience, nothing was glued and the sequins and beads were all of the highest quality.

I've never had a custom order from King of the Nile but I have ordered from them many times for hip scarves. The service and product I received from them was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again - hmmmmm which is making me think I better go and check out the website to see what I might like to have!! lol

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I also had great service from King of the Nile.
Everything on the ready-made costume I ordered was sewn not glued. I also reinforced the top of my lycra skirt (like Andalee), as it tended to slip down due to the weight of the beautiful beadwork. I then ordered a velvet skirt and top made-to-measure, and they too were very good quality, and fitted me well.

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
I placed a bulk/student order with them, and the hipscarves fell apart while being taken out of the box, prior ro even being worn. It was really emabrrassing for me as the teacher, and they didn't apologize when I let them know about the products' quality issues.

I have a terrific bedlah set from them & it is nice quality, especially for the price. I've been aware of them for many years now too, they aren't super-newbies...

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
My troupe and I ordered a costume from them about a year ago and I love my piece. It's great quality the price was fairly reasonable too. Everyone pretty much got their pieces within 6 weeks except for one of us, it took her an additional month. If you're not in a rush to get it, I say go for it. It's of great quality!

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
Custom ordered a bedlah from them, really liked the people I talked to. When it got here, on the bra, they had sewn a wierd line of beads where the lycra overlapped. It was a spiral costume, so it was really obvious and ugly. I called them and complained. They said send it back, they fixed it and made it much better for no charge! Highly recommend them!

,r:;Ok, so I was actually looking at their site (and others) after searching for new vendors on this section of bhuz! (as long as no one complained about them) I ordered a pre-made bedlah + skirt and pieces from them (at a great! sale deal) and LOVE ..l;, it!!! I will order again when I get more money!

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
Awww, how nice to read all these compliments. I am always thankful I am selling to women because in my experience they are much more appreciative than guys. For all you ladies, I really appreciate your nice comments and will take advantage of any chance to impress you even more in the future. For those who had a bad experience which will happen in any business, I am personally offering an apology and would love an opportunity to make it up for you in case you are not happy for any reason. I love making professional costumes that fit perfect at an affordable price. Wish you all happy dancing.

Hello Yaz!
I sent email a couple of days ago. I'm sure you're very busy with orders and the sale going on right now, but I just had a couple of questions about placing an order. If you could let me know as soon as you get a chance so I can make a decision I would appreciate it. Thank you!

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
Hello, that is nice of you to say, thank you.
If you would like to send me some replacement items to make up for this, you are welcome to do so. Although I just went ahead and bought replacement scarves from another vendor at my own expense.
I did email more than once about this situation, at the time. However, since you're apologizing now and offer to make it up to me, I do appreciate the gesture. If you will PM me, I can send you my mailing address. Thank you.

Re: Any experience with King of the Nile?
My confidence is quickly waning - I still haven't heard from anyone. Really not inclined to send off a few hundred dollars for costume & wholesale order when I can't even get a response about placing the order to begin with.
Lotus, have you received any response to your post?

I've emailed you four times now. I would like to order a costume, but I have a question first.
