    Thumbs down Neckelmann's costumes

    Just wanted to let all of you know my experience when ordering from neckelmann's costumes.
    I had a custom order placed in Jan. Site said 8wks for delivery. Well here it is May12, 2009. I just got a call and e-mail saying my costume was done. Every time I tried contacting them via e-mail or phone I did not get a response until I got nasty ( after about the 10th try each time.) The last phone call I received the lady, Stacy, yelled at me when I asked for a confirmation and tracking number and said they will not send the costume without payment. To top it off I didn't get what I ordered. Just beware when ordering. I know I will never order from them again.

    That is so weird!
    I've ordered from them like 3 times and had a wonderful experience!
    They were always really nice with me, sorry to hear what happened to you.

    Mine came in mostly on time from them (about 2 weeks late), however the bra was too small. I ordered a 38 size band and it came in about 4 inches too short.

    I contacted them today, and of course they are saying it's not their fault, even though I haven't shipped it back yet. Hopefully it will all get taken care of, but I won't be ordering from them again!

    That sucks. I guess you get what you pay for. *sigh*

    I've heard, across the board, that Neckelmann's is far better for off-the-rack purchases than for custom orders. This makes life a little more difficult for those of us on the larger or smaller side of what they offer on their website....I never see any A/B cups or any belts smaller than 36" on their ready-to-wear page.

    I have two off the rack bra/belt sets and had no problems. However, the troupe I was in placed a group order of nine costumes and it became a nightmare. We also called and emailed repeatedly with many excuses from the person in charge. We ended up getting the sets a few days before the performance and the sizes were totally messed up. We ended up trading around and doing a lot of tearing apart, sewing, and rebeading to get everyone in a completed costume. I would never custom order from them.

    When someone speaks to me like that over the phone when I have custom ordered something, I don't put up with it.

    I don't care how much time they spent on that costume. You custom ordered it, they took the order, now they make it without stuff assing around. Ignoring the person who is parting with money to your business is a no go zone with me.

    I would not have paid for it after being treated like that!

    the only problem i had with them is that the teal beadsi wanted turned out to be light blue. i had a costume made to match my fave gemstone, an alexandrite. ones i have go from purple to teal and have glints of a montana sapphire color. well my costume is purple, peacock(as wanted) and light blue. turns out they don't have teal beading.

    I have purshased quite a few with no problem, but I have worked with Daisy, she is the best. Try asking for her, she really tries to please. Best way to reach her is by phone, the email thing I never have any success.
    Good Luck, they are always quite beautiful when you get them.

    Just a quick update on my mess of a situation.

    The new bra was supposed to be shipped out to me on the 1st. This week rolls around and no bra. I called them on the 8th and they said oh well it wasn't ready - we'll ship it out tomorrow and send you a tracking number.

    I hadn't received a tracking number so I called them today (about 5 times before I got someone on the phone). It's still not ready. Now it's going to be 4 more days before it will ship.

    The woman on the phone even had the nerve to start yelling at me for being upset and asking for a firm ship date. Then she hung up on me!

    I am appalled at the customer service of this company. You would think that they would be doing everything they could to correct the problem, but obviously they don't care.,m::

    I didn't have a very good experience with them either. The bra cups were way too small even though I ordered an up-size. I ended up having to add a half inch, self-beaded extension to the cleavage area so that my nipples wouldn't show!

    Before that, the first time I put the bra on, a strand of the fringe loops came loose and spilled beads all over the floor. Some of the beads were lost, so I contacted Neckelmann's to find out if they could sell me some spare beads or recommend a supplier. I spoke to Daisy on the phone and she said they would send me a bag of beads absolutely free, but she never did, and when I contacted her again about it via phone and email, none of my messages were every returned.

    To top it all off, I'm going to have to replace nearly all of the fringe loops on the bra because the gold beads that were used were cheap and the gold has worn off or turned black.

    I have a troupe mate who had a sizing problem with her bra, and sent it back to be fixed. When they returned it to her (months later), the beads on the bra were a different color than those on her belt.

    As beautiful as their costumes look brand new and sparkling on the website, I seriously doubt I'll ever purchase from them again.

    Wow! Just hearing about all this makes me cringe! I've always been curious about custom ordering through them. Now, I am not so sure I want to take on that kind of headache. How can a company snub customers off like that when it comes to custom orders??? That's not professional at all! I am really sorry to hear that some of you really got burned by this company. How dreadful!

    For my 2 cents, I had my lil sis order from them and she got her stuff but one of the straps was not attached and was too short. the beads started flying off right away and the fact that these products are sewn directly on to a street bra, to me, is unacceptable. Some of my lil sis's dancers also have these and are having the same issues.,f::,f::
    I have asked them not to order any more of these in future.

    A friend of mine ordered a set from them a few years ago. The woman on the phone swore up and down the set she was sending would fit as my friend needed a 32DDD and 36 inch belt. They sent a 36C and a 42 inch belt. Never returned her calls and wouldn't help her out. Luckily she was able to sell the set to someone in class.
