Thread: Mode Mystique??

Just wondering what your experiences have been with this company. I placed an order and paid through paypal on July 30th. I completely understand the issue with shipping and custom's delays but I have emailed them several times through this site as well as my personal email to ensure that they have indeed been shipped, however, have received 'zero' responses to any of my correspondence. My time to process a claim with paypal will be up in 12 days and I am just wondering if I should proceed with a claim based on their inability to get back to me. Anyone else have an experience with Mode Mystique??? ..c::

I have not ordered from them, but sent 2 emails about length and colors available back on March 3, after a thread came up advertising skirts and harems. Both pms were answered immediately, the member advertising and who I contacted was kajaljoshi, but I see they are currently offline. I would have thought you would have gotten some kind of response..weird.

Yes, I thought I would have received a response as well. They were pretty quick when I was ordering, but now nothing. I have emailed kajaljoshi, as well as the customer service address provided on the paypal account. I would certainly be understanding if there is/was a hold up and I was advised of same, but geez, let me know. I am not quite so understanding if I am out a fair amount of money......

I've placed quite a few troupe orders with them and always been happy with the communication and service. It seems really strange that you haven't heard from them. The shipping isn't always the fastest, but I think that is usually the customs issue. Which email address are you sending to? I can check my old correspondence to make sure it is the same one. :)

Hi Azalea - I had some questions when I ordered from them a short time ago. I did get the skirt in a pretty timely fashion and it was very nice. Here's the link to the thread I started at the time - I got a lot of info from other buyers that was helpful.

I ordered a lot of stuff from them in a oner a few months ago and the package came within a week. Had no problems at all.

Thanks Azaleah! Yes, it's from the shoot, you are so sweet! Keep meaning to post more stuff but I wonder if I should wait for the cool backgrounds he's going to put in plus I'm moving so I'm in box hell! Doesn't seem to put a crimp on my Bhuz obsession though. Off topic, sorry . . .

PS Back to Mode Mystique: the consensus of my thread responses on them was that their process was a bit eccentric but that they were honest.

I ordered back in June and the package came within a week which really shocked me as I was prepared for three weeks or so.

Oddly enough, I received another email this morning saying that my order would be shipped tomorrow. No explanation, no apology, nothing. That is all fine and good and I do believe that mistakes happen but this has been well over a month since I placed the order. I suggested that we cancel my order and refund my money since my claim period will be expiring within a week, however, have not had a response - again. I really don't want a bad relationship with retailers that support the site, but I am a little sour and wary at this point. Arrrrgghhhhh!

Oh, that's tough. That's kinda how I felt about the Bhuz purchase I had trouble with.

When that deadline nears and you don't know what's going on... well, no one wants to think the worst, but it's hard not to when the communication isn't there.

I'm really surprised to hear this, because I've been ordering from Kajal for years and have never had a problem. A couple of times my order has taken longer than expected, for example once when I ordered some turkish sets in special sizes, I suppose it's because they weren't in stock and had to be specially made. It took over a month, but I always knew I'd get my order as soon as the sets were ready. It's happened a couple of times. Other times I've gotten my things in less than a week. So maybe it depends on availability and how many orders they have pending...

Great news. I received a lovely email from Kajal yesterday. My order was shipped Friday. It was probably an oversight or mix-up but being my first order with them and due to the extended time period I wasn't sure. I'm sure all is well! ..g.:

Hey! It took awhile and I emailed a few times as well. Kajal eventually emailed me and I received the product within a few days. Mine was definitely more than a month, but worth it.

did everyone end up getting their stuff? updates?

I have been ordering from Kajal for over 7 years when they went by the name of Treasures of BellyDance & have always been pleased & have had great customer service...She always comes through!

I've had nothing but good luck with them too, and look forward to their sale announcement every month! Our troupe placed a huge skirt order back in September and everybody was very happy with their skirts.

My friends and I have all ordered a number of things from them and never had an issue. Occasionally it would take a month or so to get something, but given that I expect that for items coming from overseas, I wasnt worried. Very nice items for the price!

I had two large troupe orders that went well, no problems whatsoever, so I used to recommend Mode Mystique but I no longer can. I ordered two items back around April that have yet to arrive. The first few emails from me they responded to, and one reply in early October stated the package had definitely been shipped, but it has yet to arrive. They now have chosen not to reply to several emails sent to them since they stated it was shipped. Taking people's money and not providing the item you advertised is criminal activity anywhere.

I've had great experiences with them in the past, but it's been a very long time since I ordered anything and maybe I won't do it again.

I wonder... maybe large orders get more attention than smaller orders? Or I wonder if there's some recent trouble?

I recently ordered 6 costumes from Mode Mystique for my students. We had custom sizes, from XXL to XS. I think that is why it took a couple of months to receive the order. They were out of one of the colors we ordered, and they contacted me and substituted the color of my choice. The students love their costume sets, but it did take a very long time for the order to arrive.

I had been buying from them for my troupe, but several items from my last order took over 6months to receive (lots of excuses) so I canceled them. The seller would not issue a refund due to more excuses, and after 5 or 6 more months of waiting I decided to take my credit towards more merchandise. When I finally received the merchandise from that order it was short items and I was told I wouldn't receive anything else towards my credit. It has taken me a over a YEAR just to get a partial refund in merchandise.

I still have money due me that I will never see and there is nothing I can do about it since it has been so long since the initial payment. PayPal offered no help in the matter. You may ask why I waited so long. If you deal with this person you learn that it takes forever to get your stuff. So I kept hoping it would work out. Well, it didn't and I am done, angry::

Hopefully I can find another wholesaler to meet my troupe needs at prices I can afford to handle, but they are hard to find.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and try to buy from somewhere else. I'm not the only with issues with this dealer.
