BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
Can anyone tell me their thoughts? good, bad, indifferent? Quality? timing in general and on custom orders? anything else?

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
One of my BD sisters back in Houston ordered bedlahs for her whole troupe. The order was delayed twice, and got there one day before the show. (She ordered it 3 or 4 months in advance).
Out of 8, they got 7 of them right. One was way off on sizing. She sent it back, and they resent the right size. I can't remember, though, who paid for shipping.
They had to borrow one of my bedlahs for the odd one out. It wasn't from there, but it worked well enough to blend in for the show.

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I have one bedlah I custom ordered from them, they still offer it on their site...I love it! It took maybe a week and 1/2 longer, nothing unusual.
It's a definate workhorse, about medium quality not high end, but not low end either, but very durable.
And it's one of the prettiest costumes I own! I get more compliments on it that I ever imagined. I plan on ordering from them again---they have a few right now I love.
It's this one, for reference:

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I have bought from Isis exchange before
even bought the same one ANISAHDANCER bought, which was way to small (not as ordered, and they had used a different chain, one that had little fish hanging from it!
but, I was given a full refund.
Each time myself or one of my dance sisters had ordered from them there is a big time delay, and the size is smaller than ordered.
but the items are a nice quality for the price
if you want the same costume at a better price, look up handmade costumes on facebook, I think this guy is Isis exchange supplier.
but again, make sure to stress the measurements, and be ready to wait, but cool thing, Adel does not charge you until you receive it :)

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I had one of the basic sets.
This one but it had way less fringe (which was a good thing.) I had to reinforce the fringe because it shed a bit but for the price (it was a bit cheaper when I got it) it couldn't be beat.

Some people have had major issues with them so keep this in mind.

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
There have been threads here before about Isis Exchange. Here's one of them. It looks like mixed reviews.

I did an alteration on one for a local dancer and wasn't very impressed with the quality. I have no idea what she paid for it. It may be a "you get what you pay for" situation.

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I have ordered from them twice. Both custom orders. I think they estimated completion time to be 3-4 weeks, and it ended up being more like 8-9 weeks.
The first time, the costume was made with the wrong color beading. It still looked really nice, and the measurements were correct. I kept it, and they actually offered me a store credit for the error. I have worn the costume probably 5 or 6 times now. It has held up very well.
The second time, the costume was not made to the measurments I requested. The bra was a little small, but I could deal with that. The skirt was 3 inches too short. Not even close. I was going to have them remake the skirt, and even sent it back to them. However, when they got it, they claimed it was made properly and would not even acknowledge the error. They basically blamed me for ordering the wrong size. We actually went back and forth for a week, and then they finally agreed to remake the skirt. At that point I didn't want to deal with them anymore, and asked for either a refund or the skirt returned to me. They would not refund my money, so I ended up selling the costume. It was a really nice costume though, I was bummed that it didn't fit.

I feel your pain! Every time I look at a price tag, I have to say "My what good taste I have!" Always the most expensive thing in the store . . .

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I ordered from them on October past year and got it on January 09.
The skirt was bigger than I ordered and the beading was the wrong color.
I didn't return it because I didn't want to wait 4 more months.
The quality is very good and the costume is very nice.

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I wonder if the experiences are any better with the "in stock" stuff? The custom ordering sounds kinda dodgy at best.

Yeah, you have to get lucky size-wise, which isn't easy. I just wonder if this company is more reliable on the in-stock side. I've been looking at their stuff and hesitating. Anybody?

Re: BD Costumes by Isis Exchange
I custom ordered from them and (other than me mis-measuring my hips) there was no problem on their end of things. The costume was a couple weeks later than the expected date but is beautiful and sturdy. Oh did I mention sturdy. Yup it's sturdy it's going to outlive me!...l;,
