You could contact Lucy at Scherezade Imports and ask her what her label looks like and how it is positioned.... or send her a pic by email and verify if it is her product.

It is pretty, $200 is average for a low end nicely beaded bedlah...Do you not like it?

I've received Egyptian bedlahs (not from this vendor) that have had 100% lycra on the tags. I guess they are talking about the lining. This one is pretty.

What do you expect the tag to say? I have a costume that has a tag 100% polyester, which is clearly not quite accurate. I would assume that the fabric description is for customs/import purposes only anyways.

And, when it comes to a costume, the name of the *importer* is nice to know, but it is secondary to the name of the designer. I very seriously doubt that the seller faked the label to get a more bucks on ebay, no less. That seems a heck of a lot of work for not a lot of money. And, removing a tag from one garment and sewing it into another also seems unlikely - because the original piece will be label-less.

Now, I'd say that the shipping delay was not nice, but I would give the seller the benefit of the doubt and assume that something in her life got in the way. Hey, there are scatterbrains out there ;-) (I know, I am one.)

Me too- also, sometimes I can only get to the PO once in a week due to their hours & my day work schedule...
or like you said personal circumstance...
so getting it within 10 days is not so bad-
Still-I have waited much longer myself & know the anxiety it causes...

Who cares what the tag says & who knows if she or another put it on-
as long as it fits & you like it...

100% lycra refers to the base fabric I believe. It is quite common. Keep in mind that items from Egypt are often labeled poorly if at all. I believe Hanan has had labels that say Bally Dances or Bally Dancing. So it's really not surprising. But other than the delay I don't really see the problem. Sometimes people get crazy busy.

It looks like $200 was a reasonable price for this very pretty bedlah. There are fixes for a dented bra that Anala has posted on Bhuz. I think you lightly dampen the bra, put an orange or appropriate sized fruit into each cup to fill it, and suspend the bra so that the weight of the fruit falls into the cup. Leave it for awhile and it will reshape itself. Someone correct me if this description is off.

I don't think you have cause for a dispute. Many eBay sellers do ship more quickly, but you have the item now and it seems to be as the seller described it. So what exactly are you disputing?

Most used bedlahs are going to require some sort of adjustment of hooks or straps or something, and the fix for the cups should be relatively simple.

I was told Customs requires fabric content for garments, that includes costumes. If each item is tagged it simplifies and speeds time spent clearing Customs. Labels are ordered en-masse. Vendors that purchase large costume orders usually sent labels to costume suppliers to be attached to costumes prior to packaging and shipping out of the country. FYI - textiles have a higher tariff than completed items. Countries prefer to keep the wages for labor in their home country.

Also you won't win a claim in this situation. Claims are only for damages and non receipt. Paypal will deny you. Since you received it you should just close your claim and move on. You are lucky you even got a tag in your costume. Many come with nothing.
Egyptian bras dent all the time and mostly happens from how they are stored/hung/shipped. You just reshape.
If you are really upset with the seller just leave neutral feedback.

Ooooo....I was stalking that costume when it was up for auction. It's lovely! As for the label, ::shrugs:: I'd only be interested in the label if it were a Bella or Pharonix or something higher end. Frankly, I wouldn't have even expected a label to be in that particular one.

In the BD costume world, labels often have incorrect spellings, contents, and more...and be perfectly legit.

As long as you got the bedlah you paid for...what's the problem? It's not like a tag for the importer means much about the costume liniage.

for 200$ you got a decent bedlah, what I would expect for that price, and it's pretty but not a one-of-a-kind design. Having or not having a tag, much less one that says lycra, isn't going to decrease (or increase) the value.

I didn't know you could file a dispute after only a week delay in shipping... But IMHO that's not disgracefully long. Did the seller maybe have children or was ill? Things can crop up, and I would have just emailed her asking politely at that point.

I agree with everyone else - sometimes tags aren't on costumes, or they're removed by a dancer who feels sensitive to them. I buy what I LIKE, not neccessarily just a designer tag.

It's a really pretty bedlah for $200. Above me are great tips for bra reshaping, might have gotten that way in shipping. I don't see why this was a dispute or scam when you got what you paid for?

I swear that looks like the same set I tried on at Lucys' big sale back in January. And that is the same tag in all of her costumes. As I remember, there was another girl with the same measurements as me and we were passing costumes back and forth trying them on. I thought she bought that one after I passed on it (I wasn't feeling the color). I can say that if it is the same one, it wasn't dented or damaged when I looked at it. And the price on it was in the $250 range.

Thank you for all of your replies. Believe it or not I did win the case and ive been asked to return the costume to the seller for a refund. I had no idea tags were sewn in that way and felt confident that I was being scammed lol. I typically have gut instincts about sellers and their communication and lack thereof and this one gave me a bad feeling. I do think the costume is GORGEOUS but I just felt such a lack of confidence about the sale itself...

    ??????

IMO: I think paypal is too loose with these disputes...When I buy a costume from someone, I ask questions to get the all the info important to me & to get the best fit, I just keep it & resell if I made a poor choice for myself-
Unless the item was grossly misrepresented in size or condition, sellers should be able to feel confident they don't have unnecessary charge-backs happening down the road...IMO

Doesn't it take at least 30 days to win a dispute? I think the seller just caved is all...

I closed the case..l;,, I will keep it or sell it to someone or else I can try selling it here, I might just decide to keep it for myself, the colors are so stunning. I think perhaps I overreacted and felt bad to make the seller pay even though I know for a fact they were dishonest about certain things. I know it would suck for me to mail it back to them lol..

About Paypal, no many cases are decided before the 30 day mark and Paypal is VERY MUCH on the BUYERS side as could be seen in this case ( even i could see this was a bit unfair to the seller). I have been genuinely scammed twice on ebay and both times I was taken care of by PayPal as a buyer.

That is really really bizarre that paypal sided with the buyer. It could be that the 2 of you don't have much paypal experience or else you got a newbie paypal resolution employee. But as a premium paypal member myself I can guarantee that it would never have gone that way if I was a seller. One little phone call and it would have been closed. I kinda feel bad for the seller actually but I am glad you got it resolved for yourself.

I guess I still don't understand what was being disputed. This makes me fear selling things on Ebay even more now.

In my experience and what I've heard PayPal generally is on the side of the buyer even to a fault..

Don't be, I have anxiety issues lol. I flipped out and I shouldn't have and I let it go. I'm keeping or selling the item but I closed the case and apologized to the seller. I do understand though if youre hesitant because of how much Paypal is on the buyers side. I've heard some real horror stories regarding that......

    Re: Problem Solved :)

I've been buying and selling on eBay for over 10 years. Only one time did I have a problem with a buyer. I sold her an embroidered blouse that I had bought for myself on eBay that was too small for me. After she paid me, I shipped it to her, and she filed a PayPal dispute, saying that it had large holes and yellow stains on it.

I replied to PayPal, contacted the seller that I bought it from, had her contact PayPal in the matter, and also gave PayPal her user id. As soon as PayPal contacted/heard from her and saw the pictures, the case was closed in my favor. The buyer then left me positive feedback. She was just trying to get her money back, probably because it didn't fit or she decided that she didn't want it.

I buy more than I sell these days, and never have a problem. Today, I just received a dustbuster that I bought. I charged it up, and it works perfectly.
