    Mohamed Gomaa costumes?

I keep seeing his stuff on FB ("brand new and used bellydance costumes for sale" page) and am wondering if anyone has one or bought from him directly and can comment on the quality?

    Re: Mohamed Gomaa costumes?

I have about 10 costumes from him...maybe more. I like them alot. Very useful, decorated, functional and durable costumes. They are not "couture" ofcourse, but very good costumes with imaginative colors and a HUGE variety of designs.

The shop (gomaa and others in the shop are professional) they are for real...and have very good quality costumes for reasonable prices.

Some friends have received costumes which were not "exactly" what they wanted...meaning a little longer, or a slightly different shade than they imagined. But I think this kind of stuff is to be expected by any order done online...or not-in-person.
My orders have all come perfect (with just a little effort on my part to move clasps and strams etc.)

I have to say I am a little bias, because Mohammed Gomaa is also my very good friend... :) (I go to Egypt often, and he is a generous and sweet person)

The best way to buy is:

***If you are going to Egypt- he has a shop very easy to find in Khan El Khalili. All the people at the shop are very kind and helpful.

If you don't find exactly what you like, and if you are staying for some time in Egypt, they may be able to MAKE YOU EXACTLY what you want before you go.

If not, you pay in full and they ship to you.

****If you're not going to Egypt, but you know someone who is, Gomaa is ALWAYS at the MAJOR festivals in Cairo. Maybe a friend of yours can pick it up.

    ****And, ofcourse,ordering online:
They are very experienced with online orders.
Just be sure you are very clear about what you want. In simple and clear descriptive email. You can even ask to call Gomaa to speak on the phone. He speaks english very well.
Gomaa is on FB, so you can hound him to check up on the costume if you are skeptical.

So, my 2 cents is, if you like something of Gomaa Costumes...do comunicate with him.

Usually money sent to Cairo is through western union (easy enough) and you should get your price estimate including shipping to your country.

    Happy shopping.
-and tell Gomaa (and Ahmed and Hisham) that Athena from Greece says hi :)

    forgot to mention:

I almost EXCLUSIVELY wear the hipscarfes they make.

Unlike most Egyptian hipscarves that have beads and coins falling off...these hipscarves last a long time! And Gomaa's designs, colors, and fabrics are so unique. If you are ordering, be sure to get a couple hipscarves thrown in!

If they are not your style...they will sell like hotcackes! :) haha!

    Re: Mohamed Gomaa costumes?

I have met Mohamed and Hesham Gomaa as well.... very, very friendly and nice people. A lot of the BDStore 'affordable' costumes are from them.

I'd consider them for their hipscarves, galabeyas, training clothes, and mid-level costumes, bb sets and dresses.

They also sell a variety of fringe, silk veils and fan veils, melayas (assorted colors!) and other accessories.

Give a shout out for me as well if you do business with them... Tell 'em Dinah Kadous sends her happy hellos :)

    Re: Mohamed Gomaa costumes?

Mohamed Gomaa is really easy to deal with and his prices are very reasonable even with delivery costs built in if buying through FB, I think his costumes are pretty good quality. I have purchased in Egypt & through FB. Sometimes he can be a bit slow in answering emails/FB messages, but he will. I hate using Western Union from Aussie and wished he had Paypal, but it is difficult for them to set up PP accounts from Egypt. I am actually waiting for a reply from him about a costume at the moment..g.:
