I read some nasty comments on Yelp.com about this business, which has a store in Seattle, and sells items mostly on their own website and a few things on eBay.
I looked through 8 pages of this forum to see if anyone else referred to them, but I couldn't find any mention.
Has anyone ordered from this business?

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
I bought my first bedlah and a set of accessories from them. I was pleased with what I bought, for the price. I've known others who have bought stuff from them, as well, and they've been happy. They were very basic sets, mind you, but for the price they are decent.

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
Did you buy in person or did you order online? If you ordered online, did you feel that they matched your measurements well?
Thanks! :)

I ordered online. I bought stuff that was ready-made, so they didn't need to match my measurements.

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
I went into the store in March 2007 when we were on vacation in Seattle to pick up some snake headbands and arm cuffs for a friend who ordered online from them. I met the staff and they were quite nice, but were stern with me that I had to watch my 2 little kids running around the store as they could break things.
They did advise me not to touch any of the costumes or clothing on the racks. I'm guessing I could break their costumes or clothing too? I don't know why I was not allowed to touch the costumes or clothing on the racks.
In 2009, I did email them about small isis wings and they politely emailed me back about a week later to come into the store when we are in Seattle. It was too late as we were already in Seattle by the time they emailed me back. Email replies are definitely slow.
That was my experience with Pyramid Imports. I have not bought any items from them yet.Last edited by Jennah; 05-21-2010 at 05:40 PM.

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
I bought a costume from them (as well as a few other items) when I was in Seattle many years ago. I was a baby belly, and had no idea how to know if a costume would fit me, and so after a LOT of work (and money- paid a seamstress), the costume never worked on me. I sold it to a student with a different body type, and she's worn it a few times. So it wasn't their fault- it was my ignorance.
They were very nice and gave me some jewelry for free, which was very thoughtful and nice.
As my husband and I were shopping, I remarked how much I liked the music playing, and they showed me which cd it was, which I bought. However, both the cd and dvd that I bought from them were bootlegs- I paid retail prices, but they were burned copies and photocopied covers (I didn't notice until I got home). When I contacted them about it, they sent me a new cd (the new one was not a bootleg) and apologized. Didn't get a new dvd, only the cd.
So for me, good and bad. Trying to remember how long ago this was- maybe 8 years?

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
I bought from them off of E-bay. After the sale went through, I was instructed to call and the owner tried to find bedlahs which would fit me better.
As Amara said, they are a hard fit and you do have to do work on them. I also had to take off most the fringe from the bra as there was simply too much in the wrong places for someone who is short waisted. The fringe was repurposed. I finally sold both sets. One I never tried to adjust, the other was reworked two or three times before I threw my hands in the air.

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
I went there last year. I was shocked by the prices which were high for pretty much the same quality tourist level stuff you'd get in the markets in Egypt. No designer or high end costuming. It's not really the place for pros.

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
Thank you to everyone who commented. I was looking for a bra and belt set with the looooong fringe attached to the bottom of the front of the bra, but not the heavy "Turkish" fringe attached to the cup seams. I need a little tummy coverage for scars, but not too much fringe on the top because it looks top heavy.

Re: Feedback on Pyramid Imports
I like belly drapes, also. My suggestion is if you choose to go with one of these, do not be afraid to be fearless. Taking the fringe off is pretty simple. Taking the bra apart to tip the cups, that can be a bit more difficult. I lost a lot of beads doing this because the connector was beaded through. Not good.
You might want to scout other vendors. Example: Isis Exchange has some nice full costumes currently avail for not a lot of money. As do others. And making fringe for a belly drape, while boring, also doesn't take long or cost a lot.

I am a complete sewing idiot and the most I usually attempt is sewing a button on my husband's dress shirts... :)

Years ago, I bought a couple of dvds from them... didn't have any problems with the transaction. Now I think, there're better place to buy from
