Thread: Has anyone ever ordered from Blossom Gifts?

I have been looking at this site for about two months and sizing it up. I love the selection-- and the prices are crazy affordable, but is it a legitimate company? Has anyone ordered from here before or is a regular customer? How is their service and product quality? I link to the website is below in case you can't remember it offhand. Please let me know! I was actually looking at that site lastnight and thinking the same thing. I shop online quite a bit, but for some reason I second guessed this site aswell, could it be the super afordable prices for some pretty cool stuff? Maybe its the coin hip scarves for 4.99, or haram pants for 9.99 that seem to good to be true. Normally, I would have ordered what I liked right away but I didn't because I thought what's up with this site? Who are they? Yeah, so if anyone has shopped on Blossom gifts I'd like to hear how they rate too.

I know this in no way helps with your question, but is that an avocado in the top right corner of the page? What's up with that?

Something about this site puts my radar up. There's so little personal info - the About Us section just tells how you can pay them. And look at the Help menu - it all seems to be stuff on how to build a website. And a tutorial on template setup???

Yeah, I thought that was weird too, the whole avocado picture and lack of information. I'm glad I asked before I bought anything. I saw it promoted on bhuz.com for one day. That's probably why! Thanks for the response

Yeah I'd definately be weary of giving my credit or debit card info to a site that gives off such a shady feel. Like I said I usually shop on line but this site just made me a little skeptical. I'd still like to hear if anyone has tried them.

I think it's possible the site is valid-- the actual cost of items from India is not expensive, but then again the quality may not be great. There's an email address listed, so emailing the vendor might be telling of how serious they are.

Waaay in the beginning of this year, I was going to purchase hip scarves from Blossom Gifts, got as far as filling out the fields for my credit card/shipping info. I was at the last step... THEN...I noticed that the total balance due--what they were going to charge my card--was double the amount of the merchandise! The price of shipping appeared to be almost 80-100% of the price of the item(s)! Needless to say I exited out as fast as I could, in time to NOT purchase. For the rest of that day, I was biting my nails wondering if they'd had enough time to steal my credit card info. and charge me that ridiculous amount anyway...c:: I was lucky...nothing happened.

Now, I cling ever-so-happily to THE BELLYDANCE STORE where Sharzad indulges my paranoia by taking all my orders over the phone (I'll be paying via Paypal while she chats with me on the phone:)). They are really great over there, very-very-VERY GOOD prices, excellent products and really outstanding customer service (I get my stuff within 3 days, tops!).

Sorry, bellydancefanatic, didn't mean to hijack this post but I really believe in the Belly Dance Store -- I assure you that you'll have a very positive experience purchasing through them, as has been my personal experience.

I was considering using them as a wholesale source, so I ordered something from them back in September. I haven't gotten it yet nor have I gotten any satisfactory response.

I'm trying to get the owner to reply to me, and I actually told him that I will be using Bhuz to, ahem, inform the bellydance market of his business practices, if he doesn't refund my money. I'll keep you all posted.

Yes... I just ordered a hip scarf, and never heard back from the company. I also found another posting on the web about them. The dancer never heard back from them either.

Luckily I only lost $20

I directed them to this thread and they refunded my order. I would never do business with them again, though.

I know you've gotten plenty of replies, but I know one of my students bought a hip scarf from them and she waited over a month for it to arrive and she had to contact them a few times and ask.

I also thought the site seemed too good to be true. I also wondered if a hipscarf bought at 5 dollars, how long it would last and of the quality of the scarf.

I am lucky enough to live in driving distance to Shahrzad and yes she indulges all your desires as costumeaholics! My troupe gets costumes from her and she has great sales. She also is an awesome photographer! She should have my pics up on her site soon! I think she should look at a second career as a dance photographer!

The girl who referred the site to me, ordered her scarf (14.99) and had it in about two weeks. It ships from India or somewhere like that, hence the long delivery. I am going to place an order this week on the site. I'll let you know if I am a victom or victor!

Hello everyone,

I have just received my hip scarf from Blossom Gifts today. It's a Pink Belly Dance Hip Scarf 3 Rows Beads and GOLD Coins

Somehow I got it for $3.99 the day I ordered. Including shipping, the total was only $8.99. I ordered it the week of March 24th and received an email from them on April 1 telling me it has shipped from India by insured mail and will arrive 04/20 or earlier. I got it today, less than 2 weeks after I ordered.

I was a little skeptical about this site at first as well but I'm glad I went for it. The coins on the belt are big and not flimsy. I would recommend this site to my classmates.

Hi-I have ordered from Blossom gifts on three separate occasions and merchandise has arrived in a timely manner and quality appears to be consistently good. Payments are processed by a separate company called "World Pay" (which seems to be located in London); Blossom ships the merchandise direct by insured mail. The prices have recently gone up a bit (hip scarves that used to cost $4.99 are now, I believe, $7.99; "Shakira" hip scarves that were $14.99 are now $17.99 to $19.99. Prices are still better than most other places.

Everything I see on that webstie is available on Ebay for the same price or for even less. Ebay is full of Indian bellydance items. And at least on Ebay you can file a complaint and get your money back if the seller doesn't deliver.
Personally I don't like Indian coins. They tarnish the instant they get a drop of sweat on them, and in my humid climate they rust to the point of becoming deformed within a month. Egyptian and Turkish coins are much better quality metal.

Hmmm...is it just me, or did the people who praised this company open accounts specifically for that reason? They each only made that one post and didn't log in again, that's kind of odd...
