Thread: Anyone with some news Re:Dahab Designs?

Has anyone had recent communication with Alisa from Dahab Designs lately? I ordered and paid for a costume in July of last year and it has still not arrived. I saw that she posted on her thread over a week ago that she was posting all backorders, so I asked her for tracking information and haven't heard back from her yet.

I'm sure she's doing the best that she can.... so sorry that you've had to wait so long, but for Egyptians in Egypt right now, life is difficult.

Hopefully, your costume will arrive soon. It has only been a week, and international shipping can take awhile at times (I once shipped something priority from Germany to USA and it took 3 weeks to get there), so let's hope that your costume is making it's way to you!

Yeah overseas shipping can take a while when it's coming to the US. Everytime I've ordered something from Egypt it took 3 to 4 weeks to receive (partially because things tend to spend a lot of time just sitting at customs).

From what she said in her update, it sounds like they haven't been able to work at all for the last couple months (could be due to location being dangerous, curfews, or other similar factors). They are probably catching up on a lot of missed work during that time. Since you ordered so long ago, I'm sure you'll be getting it soon. I wouldn't worry. This vendor has been honest with everyone and has built herself a good reputation.

Yes I am aware of the unrest in Egypt at the moment and have had word, a few weeks ago, from Alisa that things should be improving soon.
I just wanted to know if anyone had heard from her over the last week as she usually replies within a couple of days.
I'm not questioning her integrity or trying to tarnish her reputation, the reason I ordered from her was because I'd seen her work in the flesh and read very positive feedback on Bhuz.
I trust that it will get here, I just want to be able to track it....

I'm also waiting for 2 costumes from Dahab, one custom made and another off the rack, that I ordered back in September the 1st.

The last I heard from Alisa was the 29th of January when she told me that my costumes would ship within a week. I replied with a reminder of my shipping address and havent received any more info since.

She used to reply very quickly but lately she takes a bit longer.

I'm sure we'll receive our sparklies soon

The last week in Cairo has been very chaotic after the soccer massacre last week, three days of mourning, and the continuing clashes between protesters and police near the Ministry of the Interior - they are using buckshot and rubber bullets on protesters, it's horrible.

Things have gotten worse, so it's not too surprising if no one has heard from her over the past week.

Still no communication with Dahab Designs. Anyone else having any luck?

All I can tell you is that I have a friend who lives between Dahab and Sharm, and she has reported that the mail is completely untrustworthy and that shipping is really tricky unless you have a really trustworthy contact (I was asking her about getting some stuff together to sell over here). It is concerning that Dahab designs hasn't contacted by email, but she could be having really serious issues with getting things in and out of the country.

I hope she is OK.

I'm sorry to see tht some bhuzzers are concerned and anxious about their costumes. I know this is a challenging time for our friends in Egypt. Eshta always struck me as an honest online presence with a desire to build a strong business. Join me in praying for some stability and success for all of us.

I'm not waiting for a costume but for some reason I really want her to succeed. I like her work, her prices and her eagerness to build her business.

You did not get word from her when I did? She said that she was going to post some items to people on the 5th but I am yet to receive confirmation of that, so, no tracking details yet. I hope you hear from her soon, keep me posted and I'll let you know if I hear from her again.

I woke up to a nice surprise this morning. I have tracking details for my cozzie! Now that I have an estimated date of arrival etc I will allow myself to get excited about it. Will let you know when it arrives!

Soooooo does, the bead work and construction is just awesome. I would recommend Dahab Designs to anyone, now that's she's back in business

I just love it, just need to adjust the strap on the bra and away she goes!
