Thread: Classic Egyptian dancers

I know this has been out there for a while but it's good enough to share again.

Yes, this is just great. I don't usually like to see videos of dancers grafted on to music that they were not actually dancing to, but this is very much an exception. Putting this together was somebody's painstaking labor of love and they did a great job!

Its a clip that was put together by somebody who is a genius :-) at Rotana the Middle East tv company. Its still played occasionally on the tv here. Thanks Norma its a stand out clip.

Can anybody tell us what Naima Akef is saying at the very beginning of the clip?

Great question! The only word I could make out was "dunyah".

By the way, has anyone made a playlist of who all the individual dancers are frame by frame? I recognize many but not all.

I'd like to know that too! I'm still not too knowledgable concerning the Classic Egyptian dancers, I only recognised Suhair Zaki.
