    My choreo at home

This is my choreo in my basement. I've worked hard on my choreo about 4 months. I've been bellydancing for 5 years and over 2 months I'm going back to performing in a bellydance festival and it will be my fourth time to do my solo but i'm going to do a drumsolo (really looking forward :-)). It's been almost a year ago since that I've performed.

So I want to know if you like it the video , maybe I can work somewhere on my techinques?

    Any tips are welcome

Very nice! You are lovely. There were just a few things I noticed:
1.) Facial expression - don't forget to work on your facial expressions. It may sound silly to practice facial expressions, but if you get in the habit of having a poker face when you are practicing, you will probably do that when you are nervous and performing in front of an audience. It may be the lighting but your face looks a little tense. It was nice when you smiled, do that more!
2.) Depth of movement in the vertical figure 8 of the hips - use your "juice joints" more - I don't know the real name for it but it's that inner junction between the leg and the hip - really get deeper into that joint for a juicier movement.
3.) A couple of times your arms are going straight out to the sides as an accent to the music. This is fine but it seemed a little overly forceful and your hands looked like fists. Could you soften this a little?
4.) A purely personal opinion, but I dislike the move where you are shimmying and bending forward at a 90 degree angle from the waist. I just don't like that look, but as I said, that's my personal thing, if you love it, keep it in. It tends to look a bit too suggestive for my taste.

Overall, it was beautiful, fun to watch you. Congratulations on working so hard and perfecting your choreography. And good for you to have the cojones to ask for feedback, smart move. You may hear a lot of different opinions from people here on Bhuz, so don't take anything personally, consider it, and use what you like.

    Good luck with your performance!

i thought it was really good and u could tell you put a lot of thought into it,

these are just my opinions and some of it i noticed only cuz im working on these things myself.

    1. you seem super stiff and uptight the whole time. id say maybe loosen up a little and let a little more flow into it. u can have correct held posture and still be loose at the same time and let other areas move a little

    2. the using stiff super arm throw outs got a little overly repetitive. maybe try using other moves or body parts for heavy accents

    3. add a little more levels. a big juicy hip swoop down and around is always a great accent :)

    :)

what style so you study? i perform this song often. i have not choreographed it. i just feel it and dance. i would say feel the music and dance. do not worry about the tech. also the violen in very unjulating use camels all kinds of 8's omi. and feel it. people want to see you have fun not a tech display. that is just my thought. also move between the melody and drum. the end is very fast choo choo shimmys are fun. and just take a brake from the tech and shimmy. people love a good shimmy!

shimmy your heart out. you want to see the shimmy in the video. if i can't see it in the video it is not big enough. and try that choo choo the music is really hast at then end also a dramatic pose ,level change or drop and spinning is good at the end too! and kicks go great with this song.
    I love this song!

    Hey Cibelle

I love this song -a lively one to put a choreo to ! you've got a lovely clean finish to your movements.

my teacher is big on patterns within a choreo so where segment of the song is repeating, take a 4 or 8 count combo split one combo up insert the other in the middle. create like a story - He's got like a list of things that make a choreo - emerging onto the stage / area, traveling / floor work patterns (making a circular diamond or eight shape on floor for instance ) and stage direction (front/back, side, diagonal planes), level changes, bodyline changes, arm patterns, flirtatious and expressive. you got some neat footwork and arm paths there so you could play with those points.

also the music although it repeats can build a sense of drama. so you can reflect that just in how the power behind the movement is carried out. i can see you've a sense of drama with the poses be nice to see that come out bit more and you've a got a good internal sense of the muscle tension exchange. in the 8's you can see that movement coming to centre and moving out again. you've got the isolation there so you can flirt with the feeling of the movement a bit more.

when the accordian taqsim kicks in, this is very baladi so it would be a contrast from the rest of oriental feel of the song for the arms to be more stationed maybe. and to work through that abdomen with a reserve but intention in the movement.

and your turns a lovely by the way.
    With flourish!
