Anyone have any suggestions? I certainly would appreciate it!

ATS is the foundation of the Tribal movement, with FCBD being the prominent approach, so you can't go wrong with them either way. However, if you are hoping to jump ahead to the modern, soloist style, I've heard good things about Rachel Brice's "Serpentine" and Zoe Jakes' four-disc set.

If you mean tribal as in ATS, then I would recommend FCBD vol 1 & 4. (both of those have revised editions out, but from what I have been told by my ATS teacher, the difference is minimal, so you may find the older version for a bit less dough). Those are the two basic "workshops" and will teach you the building blocks of that movement vocabulary. Once you have absorbed this, you may want to look into vol 7 and 9 which are the "new school" moves, if you want to explore further.

If you mean tribal as in tribal fusion, I would still recommend both DVDs above, but to that I would add Jamila Salimpour's 4 DVD set, Suhaila 4 dvd set. Those are the root of the style.

I would also recommend the following:

-Tribal Revival: fun DVD to work with once you have the basics down. it will not feel like a drill and they have some realy fun combos.

-Black Sheep Tribal Level 1, Vol 1: based on FCBD, but they do the moves on both sides instead of always on the right like FCBD

    Have fun! :)
