I am normally 100% egyptian style and even a part time member of the belly dance police, but when my fav showcase announced a 'sci-fi' theme I couldn't resist!!

1. I love it! Truly inspired choice of prop for the Star Wars saidi.
2. You are really REALLY not doing your BD police job to stop me from indulging in my very guilty fantasy about doing a Dr. Who themed dance, which would be very tempting indeed if someone took Chameleon Circuit's "A whole lot of running" time lord rock song and did an "arabized" version of same...sigh. What probably saves me is no one but a few select friends here would get what I was doing.

I've seen a number of geeky/BD performances (I'm not a geek, but many of my friends are ), and that saidi is by far the best one I've seen. Brilliant!

A lot of people have been calling it 'fusion' but I'm not sure it really is . . . there's no such thing as 'sci-fi' dancing so what am I fusing the BD/saiidi with? I think its just a silly novelty dance!

I've always thought it would be awesome to do a Leia-inspired costume, and Saidi is the perfect way to incorporate the lightsaber prop. Great idea!
